Following on from our previous articles about the sponsorships of our local sports teams, we wanted to give you an update on all of the latest news and the teams’ progress in March 2023.

Pure Staff is very proud to be sponsoring local teams; the Wrens Nest U9 Girls Team, Handsworth 2XV Rugby Team and Frank Bell-Reynolds, the Boldmere Falcons U11 Football Team, and Kings Norton RUFC.

In this update, we’ll be sharing some of the highlights from the past month.

Wrens Nest Under 9’s

This month has been a huge success for Wrens Nest U9 girls!

Having secured two out of three wins, the team is gradually building their strength and taking the season very seriously – having increased to an extra training session each week.

In their next match, they will be facing joint 1st Bournville in what could be a deciding game. A victory would not only give them the top spot in the league but also reward their hard work and dedication throughout the season so far.

Here’s hoping for a successful performance from our Wrens Nest U9 girls!

Handsworth RUFC

This month has been a rollercoaster for Handsworth RUFC!

On the 18th February, the team played Trentham away and was 45-0 down at half time. However, they fought back impressively to bring it back to an incredibly close 45-43 – unfortunately, they narrowly lost 52-43.

Nevertheless, this performance has certainly set the tone for their upcoming match against Telford 2s this Saturday where they will be looking to seek revenge on their earlier away fixture this season.

Go Handsworth!

Boldmere Falcons U11

A mixed bag for Boldmere Falcon’s U11’s this month but strong performances throughout.

Special congratulations go out to Max for his 100th goal in red and black – here’s to a hundred more!

The team started the month with a 2-0 win away to Redditch Utd, only to follow it up with a closely fought home draw of 1-1 against Sportsco Saints.

They then sealed a 1-0 victory against Solihull Moors, but unfortunately lost 2-4 at home to Leafield Athletic despite being the stronger side. This was due to some contentious refereeing decisions, including a ghost penalty and a disallowed goal!

Now, the team is gearing up for their next home game against Hampton where they hope to end March with a win. With only five or so weeks left until the end of the season, Boldmere Falcons are already beginning to prepare for their upcoming summer tournament season!

Kings Norton RFC

Kings Norton RFC have had a great month!

The team proudly finished 8th in the Midlands Counties 3 League and 23 points above the relegation line.

This is a remarkable improvement from their performance last year, where they earned 31 more points than the season before.

Now, the team is eagerly looking forward to their upcoming run in the Midlands Counties Vase Cup, starting with a home tie against neighbouring Five Ways RFC this week.

All in all, it’s been a successful month for Kings Norton RFC as they continue to play structured rugby and move up in ranks!
