Updates From The Teams We Sponsor (July 2023)
26 July 2023
A blog banner of the monthly sponsorship updates from Pure Staff for July 2023.

Following on from our previous articles about the sponsorships of our local sports teams, we wanted to give you an update on all of the latest news and the teams’ progress in July 2023. As it’s the end of the sports season, there haven’t been many updates from the local teams, but hopefully, we will have more news in the near future!

Pure Staff is very proud to be sponsoring local teams; the Wrens Nest U9 Girls Team, Handsworth 2XV Rugby Team and Frank Bell-Reynolds, the Boldmere Falcons U11 Football Team, and Kings Norton RUFC.

In this update, we’ll be sharing some of the highlights.

Wrens Nest Under 9s

The Wrens Nest girls proudly received their trophy as champions of the Stourbridge & District Youth Football League (SDYFL), marking a perfect end to a remarkable season.

With determination, they are now diligently preparing for the upcoming season, putting in their best efforts during practice sessions.

Their aspiration is to replicate the outstanding results achieved in the previous year.

Handsworth RUFC & Frank Bell-Reynolds

It’s been a very busy season for Handsworth RUFC, and everyone has played incredibly well.

Frank Bell-Reynolds from the 2XV team commented: “I am very proud to have Won Top Try Scorer for the 2xv for the third year running, it’s just a shame that the results overall didn’t go our way throughout the season. Hopefully, we can go into next season fresh-faced, ready to hit the ground running and get back to winning ways in the 23/24 season.”

We are very proud of the strength and resilience that Handsworth RUFC has demonstrated this season, and we do not doubt that they will continue to go from strength to strength in the coming season.

Boldmere Falcons U11

June brought the curtain down on what has been a mixed season this year for Boldmere Falcons U11’s. With a very tough tournament in the morning, where Falcon’s missed out on qualifying for the semi’s by one singular goal, the annual End of Season Awards took place the very same afternoon.

The afternoon was a celebration of the humongous efforts put in by Chris, Gaz, Marc and Kev on the coaching front and of course, not forgetting the herculean efforts put in by Heather (Team Admin) and Michelle (Team Treasurer) – without these six individuals, there would be no team to represent!

All players received awards for their individual contributions but three players were voted for by the parents, the coaches and their piers to receive special recognition…

  • Parents Player of the Year went to Lennon Foley, our winger extraordinaire. Pace, skill and a pure desire to “get there first” makes him a priceless asset to the team and one that was rightly recognised by those that spend their Sunday mornings shivering cold and dripping wet on the sidelines.
  • Coaches Player of the Year went to the ever-effervescent Max Jewell. Max is our forward and the constant driver of all those around him. With the energy of a Duracell Bunny, he drags all the others with him week in week out and who could deny him this honour in the year he scored his 100th career goal for the Falcons!
  • Players Player of the Year went to Sean “The Cat” Laird, the Emi Martinez of B73! Sean is the rock at the back that can always be relied on to be a calming presence and one that directs his defence with an authoritative air. Sean has come on leaps and bounds in the last season and a half – it takes something truly special to be recognised being a keeper! – well done Sean.

All at Boldemere Falcons wish to thank those at Pure Staff for their generous support supplying our Home Kit and we look forward to the 23/24 season that starts in September, when, now at Under 12’s – the fully competitive league comes into play for the first time!
