About MND Association
The MND Association provide compassionate and practical support to people living with motor neurone disease (MND), as well as the families, carers and friends affected by the condition. Their work recognises that an MND diagnosis can have a profound impact on the whole family, offering information, guidance and emotional support to help people navigate the challenges that come with the disease.
The support offered by the MND Association extends beyond the person living with MND. Their dedicated Children and Young People’s service supports those aged 4 to 25 who are affected by a loved one’s diagnosis, helping them understand what is happening, cope with difficult emotions and access support at home, school, college or work. The Association also provides support for parents, guardians and carers, recognising the importance of supporting the whole family throughout their experience of MND.
Through personalised emotional and practical support, family counselling, specialist information, support grants and opportunities to create meaningful memories, the MND Association helps families feel less alone. Their Children and Young People’s team also offers memory-making days and resources such as treasure and memory boxes, while their MND Connect helpline provides information, guidance and a listening ear for anyone affected by MND. By supporting both the practical and emotional needs of families, the Association helps people navigate life with MND while ensuring that children, young people and carers have a voice and access to the support they need.
