This month we took the opportunity to network our services and help the local area by joining the Generation Next Jobs Fair at the high-tech National College for High-Speed Rail on 5th March 2018. The event was designed to showcase a wide range of job, apprenticeship and training opportunities available to residents in Birmingham and the West Midlands. A new generation of skilled workers is required across the target industries owing to a lack of locally sourced labour and an ageing workforce, and the Youth Promise Plus programme in association with partners is rising to the challenge through the Generation Next Jobs Fair. It’s a great time to be looking for work in the West Midlands owing to growth in the Rail, Construction and Manufacturing sectors. High-Speed Rail 2 (HS2), alone will create around 25,000 jobs and there will be 14,000 new jobs created within the Construction sector by 2021.
Birmingham Branch Manager Chris Thomas and Recruitment Consultant George Beach were on hand to help and advise anybody looking for more information on finding work and how to become part of a growing industry. They also had the opportunity to engage and connect with other local companies at what turned out to be a fantastic networking event.
