At Pure Staff, we believe in using our platform to support incredible causes that make a real difference in our communities. We had the privilege of visiting Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer (LFBC), based in Bromsgrove, on the 11th of February. LFBC’s dedication to improving the lives of those affected by breast cancer is truly inspiring, and we are proud to have donated £1,500 to support their remarkable work.

This donation will contribute to enhancing cancer care and providing vital support to patients and their families. A huge thank you to Veronica Kumeta and Shelley Duncan for their tireless efforts with LFBC, and to our team—Denise, Amie, and everyone at Pure Staff—for making this possible. You can learn more about this wonderful charity and our involvement on our website. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful impact!

Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer (LFBC) was founded in 2000 by Veronica Kumeta and the late Sue Macmaster, driven by the diagnosis of their dear friend Carol Knaggs with breast cancer. Carol’s passing, followed by Sue’s own battle with the disease, became the catalyst for a movement rooted in love, compassion, and determination. Today, their legacy carries on through LFBC’s tireless outreach, fundraising, and community-focused initiatives.

The charity, which originally aimed to support Carol and Sue, has grown into a lifeline for countless women over the past two decades. Through her dedication, Veronica, alongside a team of dedicated support workers and volunteers, champions the importance of early breast cancer detection. LFBC also provides essential community care and actively raises funds to further the fight against the disease.

Since its inception, LFBC has raised more than £1.5 million for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Trust’s Cancer Unit. These funds have been instrumental in acquiring cutting-edge medical equipment and establishing the hospital as a ‘centre of excellence’, ensuring that patients receive world-class care. Through its unwavering mission, LFBC continues to offer hope and support, honouring the memory of the incredible women who inspired its creation.

This has not only revolutionised the quality of care available but has also provided hope to countless individuals battling this life-altering disease. LFBC’s commitment to making a difference goes beyond funding; they touch lives with their unwavering dedication to supporting patients physically, emotionally, and financially.

One of LFBC’s most heartfelt programmes is the Hugs-In-A-Bag initiative, a project born out of compassion for those facing the challenges of cancer treatment. Recognising the immense emotional and physical strain of undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, LFBC developed this thoughtful programme to provide a touch of comfort and care during an incredibly tough time.

Each bag is carefully curated with essential and comforting items such as blankets, books, water bottles, and other practical tools to ease the burden of treatment. These helpful items are selected with the aim of addressing both the physical side effects and emotional toll of cancer treatment, offering patients a sense of relief and support.

Every bag serves as a small but powerful reminder that no one faces this battle alone. Whether it’s a patient enduring their first round of chemotherapy or someone navigating the long journey of radiotherapy, these bags are there to provide a little light in the darkness.

The initiative is inclusive, designed for both women and men, and reflects LFBC’s unwavering dedication to fostering resilience and showing tangible care when it is most needed. Through Hugs-In-A-Bag, LFBC continues to bring hope, strength, and a sense of community to patients on their cancer journeys.

Giving something back to the community is at the heart of everything we do at Pure Staff. Supporting LFBC aligns perfectly with our values, as they work tirelessly to improve cancer care outcomes and create a positive impact for individuals and families facing extraordinary challenges.

We believe that by contributing to LFBC, we are not just donating; we are investing in hope, comfort, and the future of cancer care. Knowing that our support is helping to ensure more “centres of excellence” and strengthening initiatives like Hugs-In-A-Bag reaffirms our commitment to making a difference.

While our donation is just one step, we hope it inspires other organisations and individuals to support vital causes like LFBC. Charities like these depend on the generosity of communities, partners, and businesses to continue their impactful work.

Whether it’s through raising funds, volunteering time, or spreading awareness, every little bit helps in creating a brighter future for those affected by breast cancer. At Pure Staff, we are honoured to play a small part in LFBC’s incredible mission, and we thank them for everything they do to transform lives.

Together, we can make a difference – one donation, one initiative, and one act of kindness at a time. Breast cancer affects so many lives, but organisations like LFBC ensure that no one has to face the fight alone.
