Overview:
- Plan and coordinate daily transport operations and driver schedules.
- Allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently to meet customer requirements.
- Manage and monitor transport movements throughout the day.
- Communicate with drivers, customers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations. Deal with any delays, breakdowns or operational issues and find suitable solutions.
- Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant legal and company requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, driver hours and transport activities.
- Monitor driver working hours and ensure compliance with drivers’ hours regulations.
- Liaise with customers regarding collections, deliveries and any changes to schedules. Assist with the management and planning of vehicle and trailer availability.
- Work closely with the wider transport team to improve efficiency and minimise empty running.
- Complete any necessary transport administration and reporting.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a transport planning, logistics or similar role.
- Good knowledge of UK transport operations and drivers’ hours regulations.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Strong attention to detail. Confident using transport planning systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other:
- Shift 1(7am – 3.30pm) Mon – Fri
- Shift 2 (2pm – 10.30pm) Mon – Fri
- Also, as part of the rota you will be required to work every other Saturday.
This is a permanent role, office based.
