The role is focused on working within the technical function to ensure all aspects of the
company quality management systems are promoted and maintained.
Operationally:
Working closely with the Technical Manager, Departmental Managers and
Technical Team within the organisation to promote the quality management system across all
operations.
The Role:
- Deputise for Technical Manager.
- To manage the QA team to ensure cover across all production operations.
- To ensure implementation of the QMS.
- Assist with all company BRCGS and customer technical standards in the maintenance
- and development of the QMS to meet the requirements of all relevant technical
- standards.
- Manage internal audit schedule and act as part of the company internal audit team.
- Support the Head of Operations in developing the operational teams understanding of
- HACCP and the QMS.
- Support the Technical team in developing compliance with the QMS by the production
- teams.
- Prepare Technical specifications according to web based systems and customer
- requirements.
- Assist with all customer visits and audits, leading on sections, e.g., audit/product
- recall/traceability as required.
- Assist with customer and company special projects as required.
- Assist with departmental and customer KPI’s and monitoring of trends.
- Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and develop systems to improve service
- to customers.
Attributes:
- Relevant qualifications in science and/or Food Technology
- 2 – 5 years in food industry (or equivalent with transferrable skills)
- Internal auditing
- HACCP, Micros based retailer systems.
- Experience of food manufacturing in a short shelf-life chilled operation
- Food Safety standards and Retailer manufacturing standards, development & maintenance of
- systems
