Production Operative
Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join our client, a specialist manufacturer of bespoke double‑glazed units. The company produce custom glass units, cutting and shaping glass for trade counters and wholesalers.
This is a hands‑on, physical role within a busy manufacturing environment, offering a temp‑to‑perm opportunity for the right candidate once a successful trial period has been completed – a minimum 12-week period.
Your Role
As a Production Operative, your duties will include:
- Handling glass and working with bespoke double‑glazed units
- Operating machinery to sand and finish glass edges
- Carrying out repetitive production tasks to meet targets
- Tapping sealed units before dispatch to ensure quality
- Stacking finished products onto trolleys
- Performing heavy manual handling duties
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
Requirements
- Positive attitude
- Comfortable carrying out heavy, physical work
- Previous production or manufacturing experience desirable
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, repetitive role
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team
Pay & Shifts
- £12.71 per hour
- 39 hours per week
Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 15:45 (paid 30‑minute and 15‑minute breaks)
- Friday: 07:00 – 13:00
Overtime Rates:
- After 39 hours overtime is paid at time and half £19.07 per hour
- After 45 hours rate increases to double time of £25.42 per hour
