I am currently working with a fresh produce supplier who has grown substantially over the last 40 years and with their entrepreneurial spirit and growth are now looking to appoint a Procurement Executive.
A few duties:
- As a Procurement Executive, it will be your job to initially manage the sales admin function but as you progress the trading role with our wholesale customers.
- Sales Admin: To generate purchase and sales orders into NAV. To maintain and generate items and vendor in NAV. To organise collections and distribution of goods with our haulier.
- To plan and forecast produce quantities required to ensure sufficient stock is procured to fulfil orders and to avoid wastage.
- Produce weekly reports detailing top line sales figures, profit, any additional sales opportunities and quality levels ensuring a consistent flow of business information.
- Promote, develop and manage customer relationships to maintain sales, elevate growth, uphold our supplier reputation and deliver on service level agreements
- Uphold awareness of costs within the supply chain to maintain and increase profit margins and maximise both customer and supplier profit potential.
- Working closely with the commercial manager within the food service and wholesale markets whilst managing of own portfolio of products
Attributes:
- Language skills would be an advantage but not essential.
- Be flexible as role requires some weekend cover (on rotation within the team)
- Be mobile – car driver and able to visit markets, suppliers in the UK and globally
- Brilliant interpersonal and communication skills both over the phone for day to day trading and face-to-face for meeting suppliers/ customers alike.
- Be computer literate with good working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of business tools (excel; word; PowerPoint; outlook)
- Must have experience in the Fresh Produce sector.
- Knowledge of Wholesale
