Pay Rates
Standard PAYE Rates
- Monday to Friday: £19.50 per hour
- Saturday: £21.50 per hour
- Sunday / Bank Holiday: £21.50 per hour
PAYE Rates with Rolled-Up Holiday Pay
- Monday to Friday: £21.85 per hour
- Saturday: £24.10 per hour
- Sunday / Bank Holiday: £24.10 per hour
Rolled-up holiday pay is available as an optional payment method for this vacancy.
About the Role
Pure Staff are recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Night Driver on behalf of a leading logistics and distribution business. This is an ongoing opportunity delivering to retail locations across the UK, offering a supportive working environment, modern vehicles and excellent earning potential.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a HGV Class 1 Night Driver, your responsibilities will include:
- Completing supermarket and retail store deliveries
- Carrying out vehicle and trailer safety inspections before each shift
- Safely transporting goods while complying with all transport legislation
- Completing self-tip deliveries at customer locations
- Unloading roll cages using tail lifts and pump trucks
- Handballing stock where required
- Completing all delivery paperwork and POD documentation accurately
- Following planned delivery routes and delivery schedules
- Maintaining excellent communication with transport teams
- Adhering to Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive and Health & Safety requirements
Shift Pattern
- Start times between 23:00 and 01:00
- Thursday to Monday night shifts available
- Average shift length of 10-12 hours
- Weekend work available
- Additional shifts regularly available
- Long-term ongoing work
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of UK transport legislation
- Professional and reliable attitude
- Ability to carry out physically demanding duties when required
