The Role:
- You will lead the finance function and support the company’s financial strategy where you will work closely with the executive team to optimise financial performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- You will also lead the development of digital finance capabilities across the organisation will ensure that the department is united, has sound financial practice and is meeting accounting standards.
- You will lead the Finance department, developing the people and culture ensuring performance delivery and providing support. You will be responsible for creating a culture of excellence with a robust control environment and devotion to detail.
- This is an exciting opportunity for a proven Qualified Accountant who is highly experienced working closely with a senior management team and board, supporting business direction and decision making.
Duties:
- Production of management accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop and maintain an accurate cashflow forecasting model.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Liaise with external auditors as and when required.
- Provide any further financial information to the Management Executive to enable appropriate decision making.
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives.
- Drive the development of digital finance capabilities, including the implementation of new financial systems and tools.
- Strong understanding of processes and controls to better improve systems in place
- Understanding financial performance; identifying and assessing potential financial risks and opportunities.
- Support the continuous improvement mantra
- Have a working understanding of VAT & Banking processes within the company
- To demonstrate a high standard of appearance and conduct at all times
- To promote good working relationships both in own department and across the divisions.
- Have a working knowledge off all aspects the Finance function with the ability to provide holiday & sickness cover when required. To perform any ad-hoc tasks requested by Management Executive and line manager.
Attributes:
- You will need to be a qualified accountant (ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.
- Strong digital skills, with experience in implementing new financial systems and
tools.
- Knowledge of ERP, WMS.
- Excellent financial modelling and analysis skills.
- Experience leading a finance team within a SME environment.
- Proven track record in management and creation of sound processes and financial controls.
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards, VAT, and tax rules including Partial exemption.
- You must have strong communication skills and the ability to challenge both internal and external stakeholders.
