Watch Out for Job Scams – Stay Safe with Pure Staff
At Pure Staff, we’re all about helping people into good, honest work. Sadly, we’ve seen a rise in fake job ads online and some scammers are using legitimate agencies to facilitate fraud.
We want to make sure you know what to look out for and how to stay safe.
What’s Going On?
Some dodgy websites are copying real job ads and tweaking them to mislead people. They might:
- Use trusted company names like ours without permission
- Show fake job titles or descriptions
- Quote incorrect pay (sometimes below minimum wage)
- Promise roles or benefits that don’t exist
It’s frustrating and potentially risky for job seekers.
How to Spot a Scam
Here’s how to stay on the safe side:
- Stick to trusted sources – You’ll always find our jobs on sites like Totaljobs, CV Library, Indeed, or directly at purestaff.co.uk
- Look closely – If the pay looks off, or the job description seems vague or too good to be true, then always double check by calling us on our number on this website
- Don’t pay for anything – We’ll never ask for money from our candidates. You should never have to pay anyone to find or obtain work.
- Not sure? Ask us – We’re happy to check a listing if something feels off – you can send us the link to the advert by emailing compliance@purestaff.co.uk
What We’re Doing
We’re working closely with our partners to take down fake listings and stop sites from misusing our adverts. We also follow up directly with clients if we spot anything suspicious.
Seen Something Dodgy?
If you come across a job ad that doesn’t look right, let us know. Send:
- The job ad link
- Any emails or messages you’ve had
- Screenshots, if you can
Thanks for helping us keep things safe. If you ever have doubts, give your local Pure Staff branch a quick call or email compliance@purestaff.co.uk – we’re here to help.
