The graduate role is working within the technical team to ensure the produce they are growing, sourcing, processing and packaging meets Legal, Safety, Quality, Ethical & Sustainability requirements.
The role is key to business functionality and will give responsibility, training and development as you work with our suppliers around the world in addition to our customers, including the UK retailers.
The role will include national and international travel for the business. This will include visiting and auditing suppliers, packhouses and farms worldwide. The role gives the opportunity to gain first-hand experiences and development within the technical team of a fresh produce business.
The Role:
- Understanding and decision making of product quality and seasonality using key quality data
- Support the due diligence system taking responsibility for the maintenance of supplier records
- Supporting the supply base by engaging in ethical, sustainability and quality requirements and documenting actions and development.
- Internal reporting for both customers and suppliers dealing with all stakeholders.
- Communicating with suppliers to discuss quality issues, and Influence and developing supply chain from a quality perspective
- Support on internal audits
- Auditing and visiting suppliers on international trips
- Attendance at customer facing meetings to support wider team
- Leading supplier relationships, KPIs and development
- Creation of product specification
- making quality tolerance decisions
- Management of customers specifications and communication to all relevant parties and customer depot QA teams where appropriate, including management of our customers databases as required
- Lead as a product specialist and support new product development
- Completing sample preparation & benchmarking
- Monthly internal and external KPI summaries
- Any other reasonable ad hoc duties
