My client is an international metals business manufacturing plate and bar products for the Aerospace industry.
Due to a promotion, they are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to work on a Rotational Shift Pattern.
The correct candidate will have proven experience leading production teams in either the metal or aerospace arenas. They will be a good communicator, have hands on experience machining (saws and CNC Milling) and have great people skills. The Hours:
Rotational Shift
Week 1: 06:00 to 14:00 with a 30 minute lunch break Monday to Friday
Week 2: 14:00 to 00:00 with a 30 minute lunch break Monday to Wednesday
14:00 to 23:30 with a 30 minute lunch break Thursday (Friday off)
Main Duties
* Works closely with the Production Manager on all Operational Issues
* Responsible for the complete understanding off all areas under the production control and supervision of all production employees
* Planning and organizing production schedules
* Help maintain outputs set by the Production Manager, with the ultimate goal of customer satisfaction in mind
* Ensure compliance to Health & Safety on site at all times
* Assisting in the development and the maintenance of safety standards to provide a safe working environment for all employees
* Assisting in the annual implementation and reviewing of risk assessments
* Ensures all AMS standards policies and procedures are adhered to within your area of your control
* Ensures preventative maintenance is carried out as per the agreed schedules and reacts quickly and strategically to any machine breakdowns
* Assist the Production Manager with any site facility issues
* Maintain Quality standards throughout the operational process and assists and develops process improvements to drive AMS forward
* Maintain customer delivery performance of 97%
* Maintain, update & communicate “Coms Zone” Boards
* Control cost attributed to your area of responsibility to maximize profits
* Contribute to the facility and operational improvements
* Manage the daily performance of all operational employees under your control, including 1-2-1’s, annual performance reviews and informal meeting of concerns
* Maintain and update a skills matrix, ensuring any skills gaps are filled and relevant training requested through the production managers.
* Time and attendance management for all staff under your area of responsibility
* Manage all aspects of employee relations
* Work with the perpetual inventory team to ensure stock accuracy, and complete daily cycle counts when required
* Assist the business with annual stock take
The Candidate:
- Prior experience and knowledge of leading teams within a production facility and manufacturing processes
- Leadership skills
- Continuous improvement
- Knowledge of goods in and dispatch functions within an operational facility
- Very good understanding of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong mathematical and IT skills
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
- Knowledge of the metal industry
- Experience using stelplan (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work using own initiative
- Attention to detail
- Able to communicate with individuals at all levels
