🌟 Role Overview
Pure Staff are currently recruiting a reliable and enthusiastic Café Assistant to join a busy, customer-focused café within the vibrant Danum Gallery, Library & Museum in Doncaster.
This is a 12-week temporary role with a strong opportunity to become permanent. Successful candidates will be offered a permanent position following the initial period, subject to performance and attendance.
You’ll play a key role in delivering excellent customer service, preparing food and drinks, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism within a public-facing environment.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide a warm, welcoming and professional experience for all customers
- Operate tills accurately, handling cash and card payments
- Maintain high standards of personal presentation and hygiene
- Respond positively and efficiently to customer queries
Food & Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, light meals, and snacks
- Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation standards
- Support healthier menu options and maintain allergen awareness
Cleanliness & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness across café, kitchen, seating, and storage areas
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures at all times
- Assist with daily and weekly cleaning schedules and safety checks
Team Support & Development
- Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team
- Participate in training and development opportunities
- Support colleagues during busy periods
- Remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
✅ Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a café, hospitality, or customer-facing role (or strong transferable skills)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to complete Food Safety training
Desirable
- Previous food handling experience
- Knowledge of allergen awareness
