We’re working with a leading food importer and manufacturer to find a dynamic, detail-driven Buying Assistant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where no two days are the same-you’ll be right at the heart of the action, working with international suppliers, managing stock flow, and ensuring quality products reach customers across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help manage the import of goods from Europe to the UK
- Arrange customs clearance with freight agents
- Understand transport terms (Incoterms)
- Use Excel and BC systems for stock control and ordering
- Plan ahead to make sure products are always available
- Purchase stock as needed
- Do daily stock checks
- Process purchase orders using BC system
- Work with European suppliers – build relationships and negotiate where needed
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong communicator – both spoken and written
- Confident using computers, especially Excel (XL) and BC systems
- Proactive, reliable, and focused on quality
- Experience working in food manufacturing is a plus
