This client has grown to become a market leader in the sourcing and distribution of fresh produce to some of the UK’s leading retailers priding themselves on the way they do business and understanding the market sector from which they are looking to appoint a Junior Commercial Manager based in Southwest London OR Kent.
You:
- Support in the management and development of key customers
- Provide market leading category management to support customer aims of sales and share growth
- To deliver outstanding understanding of service expectations to the business and ensure these expectations are met
- Support in the establishment and development of commercially beneficial relationship with your customers
- Work within the team to implement, evolve and communicate a joint category plan for all required areas
- Achieve all sales, volume and margin targets within the account
- Provide on time weekly sales forecasting to the business
- Provide the business with accurate account information for the use in longer term forecasting and programming
- Work within the team to deliver constant out performance versus retail and supply competition
- Contribute creatively and technically towards the promotion and development of the product range
- Continuously evaluate the supply chain to identify cost savings and opportunities to improve the quality and freshness of the product.
- Liaise with internal departments (supply chain, procurement, technical, operations) to ensure quality and timely delivery of product
- Liaise with procurement and supply chain teams to address sourcing and availability issues
- Liaise with relevant 3rd party packing sites to ensure clear communication and delivery
- Understand and communicate technical issues with the customer commercial team where necessary and liaise on these issues internally with technical and quality teams to achieve satisfactory resolution
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the market sector including consumer trends, competitor activity and product lines
- Support in the delivery of profitable business growth
- Ensure the adherence of administrative and financial systems and controls
- Provide summary information regarding sales, volumes, margins and prices as and when required
- Update internal and external stakeholder with relevant market data
